A much-loved family stop in the south east, Caldermeade Farm & Café is the perfect mix of country charm and hands-on farm experience. During the winter school holidays, families can enjoy close-up animal encounters, watch the daily farm activities, and relax with hearty meals and treats from the café. It’s an easy-going day out where kids can connect with farm life, help to feed the cheeky goats and enjoy some adorable baby animal cuddles.

Running across the entire winter school holiday period, WILDfest transforms Gumbuya World into a celebration of wildlife, adventure and winter fun. Expect live wildlife shows, hand-feeding experiences, and plenty of outdoor activities across the park’s rides, water attractions and wildlife zones. Be sure to stick around in the evening for the Wildlife by Night sessions – running after dark every Thursday, Friday and Saturday – where you’ll get to get up close with the park’s nocturnal residents.

Bunjil Place is turning up the creativity this winter with a program of hands-on workshops and family activities designed to inspire young minds. From arts and crafts to interactive sessions, the school holiday program has something for kids of all ages.
Cranbourne Community Theatre

Bringing mythology to life on stage, The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical is a high-energy production running during the second week of the school holidays. Packed with humour, music and adventure, it follows Percy Jackson’s journey through a world of gods, monsters and destiny. A fantastic theatre experience for older kids and teens, this show delivers a lively night out for families looking for something a little different.
Wilson Botanic Park

Set within the beautiful surrounds of Wilson Botanic Park, Crafty Creatures invites kids to get hands-on with nature-inspired art and creative exploration. Running across both daytime and night sessions, the program blends outdoor discovery with imaginative making. It’s a unique way to experience the park while encouraging creativity, curiosity and connection with the natural environment.
The Old Cheese Factory
Saturday 11 July
Held on the final Saturday of the school holidays, the Berwick Farmers Market brings fresh local produce, artisan goods and a lively community atmosphere to The Old Cheese Factory. It’s the perfect slow-paced weekend outing, where families can browse stalls, enjoy seasonal treats and support local growers and makers. A great way to wrap up the winter break with something wholesome and relaxed.
